As the State Director of Virginia LULAC, I lead statewide initiatives to advocate for the civil rights and advancement of the Latino community in Virginia. My role involves overseeing policy advocacy efforts, coordinating community outreach programs, and building partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and government entities to address key issues such as education, healthcare, and immigration reform. I work closely with local LULAC councils, empowering them to effectively serve their communities through leadership training, strategic planning, and community engagement. Through my leadership, I strive to ensure that the voices of Virginia’s Latino community are heard, promoting equity, inclusion, and opportunity for all.

As a Steering Committee Member of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), I collaborate with a dedicated team to advance the mission of achieving LGBTQ+ equality and inclusion. In this role, I help strategize and implement advocacy efforts, community outreach initiatives, and fundraising events that support HRC's goals on a regional level. My responsibilities include engaging with community leaders, fostering partnerships with local businesses and organizations, and organizing events to promote awareness and support for LGBTQ+ rights. Through my work on the Steering Committee, I aim to create a more inclusive and equitable society, ensuring that all people are treated with dignity and respect.

Secured Federal Non-competitive Eligibility after my Vista Year, demonstrating a keen eye for detail in reviewing grant guidelines and ensuring strict compliance with eligibility criteria. Utilized strong analytical skills to collaborate on federal grant opportunities totaling $12 million, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and eligibility criteria, and visualizing comprehensive project plans. Additionally, aided impactful initiatives, such as legislative affairs advocacy for $2 million in federal project funding, orchestrating innovative social media strategies for donor engagement, designing a seamless data input system, and organizing community meetings with a focus on inclusive communication and engagement.

Initiated the establishment of mentoring programs to guide and support new students in their university journey, cultivating a culture of success. Successfully organized engaging social events to foster community and integration among both upperclassmen and freshmen members. Led a diverse team of 10 members, overseeing responsibilities such as financial management, membership outreach, conflict resolution, and the development of a comprehensive programming information database, resulting in streamlined chapter operations and increased efficiency.

Initiated the formation of a transformative committee dedicated to enhancing civic participation within the Arlington Latino Community, fostering active engagement, and providing diverse volunteer opportunities. Conceptualized and executed Arlington's inaugural Hispanic Heritage Month festival, creating a platform to celebrate and showcase the rich culture and heritage of the Latin/Hispanic community, while also organizing statewide workshops to educate and empower the community about available programs and services in Virginia.
