I have been a member of the Canadian Armed Forces since 2003, when I joined the Primary Reserve as a Vehicle Technician (a mechanic). I transferred to the Mobile Support Equipment Operator (professional driver) trade in 2011, and achieved the rank of Warrant Officer as of May 2018. I have deployed to Afghanistan, and participated in numerous domestic and international exercises. As of August 2018 I transferred to the Regular Force as a Signals Officer, and completed my BA with Honours in History, with a minor in Disaster and Emergency Management in August 2020The positions that I have held throughout my career have centered mostly on operations, training, and logistics. My last position was at a Reserve Service Battalion in Toronto, where I was responsible for ensuring the annual readiness of approximately 250 personnel, and planned exercises accordingly to meet key benchmarks. I have also been responsible for road and vehicle safety, and maintenance planning for a vehicle fleet of approximately 400 vehicles. In my spare time I enjoy sports and volunteering. I have been volunteering with Start2Finish since 2016, and I believe it is a very worthwhile program encouraging literacy and physical fitness in our communities. I highly encourage others to look into this after-school program if they are interested in community service. In the past I have also volunteered with St. John's Ambulance.
