Advisor, Conflicts Resolution
Current• An Advisor to the firm: Researching, negotiating, mediating and resolving ethics and risk management issues arising in the course of new business vetting/acceptance and relative to our core practice areas: Corporate (M&A, Public/Private/VC Financing), Litigation, Regulatory and IP – including patent and trademark prosecution and protection.• Direct, train and mentor Analysts, Senior Analysts, Conflicts Attorneys and others throughout the firm on research, clearance, ethics, and the surrounding process of New Business Acceptance, emphasizing Risk Management and (Risk) Avoidance best practices.• Liaise and collaborate with and escalate various nuanced and sensitive matters to Internal Compliance Group, Risk/Ethics/Conflicts Attorneys and the Firm's Office of General Counsel.• Advise attorneys, staff, and management on conflicts-of-interest and ethics-driven policy, requirements and potential strategic and business concerns, and internal procedures and process (improvement) concerning same – with a particular (application) focus on Intapp OPEN intake and conflicts modules.• Review and enforce client Outside Counsel Guidelines, engagement terms and agreements, and conditional security requirements.• Draft and revise conflict waiver agreements and related ethical wall memos – and establish ethical screens via Intapp Walls system.• Identify and assess operational risks that may threaten business goals – and recommend and execute on technical, procedural and educational solutions.
