I was recruited to lead ~50 Security Operations Center team members in planning and performing real-time assessment, analysis, and evaluation of ADP Systems and network problems, and implementation of solutions to contain detected network intrusions. Analyzed network traffic at the packet level to identify malicious traffic and explain anomalies. Developed DoD security policy and countermeasure practices to mitigate risk and provide threat and damage assessment for security threats to networks. Briefed top level military officials across Homeland Security, NSA and FBI on high profile investigations. Supported the Incident Response Team during incident investigations, vulnerability assessments, malware analysis, and the development of new defensive security solutions. Coordinated efforts in isolating, analyzing, identifying and resolving extremely difficult intrusion response procedures with AOR Information Systems Managers located in the DECC's, and other DoD departments and Agencies. Advanced through several levels within the Air Force, ultimately advancing to current director level role. Highlights of My Achievements Include:► Reduced e-mail security counter-measure response process from 2 days to <2 hours from start of investigation to finalizing documentation. Incorporated signatures designed to mitigate emerging threats and instituted an automated incident response process.► Created a VIP incident response process intended to identify and respond to potential whaling attempts. Established custom dashboards to aggregate threat identifiers for 1000s of senior official’s email.► Instituted a post-travel response process to address phishing attempts targeted towards associates that had recently completed business travel with government equipment.
