As a Production Manager at Ames Rubber Corporation, I managed up to 105 employees on the first shift and 57 employees on the second shift. I have an extremely strong mechanical aptitude and have both designed and implemented many process and equipment safety improvements. I lead my employees by example and spend a considerable amount of time on the production floor. I place a strong emphasis on Lean Manufacturing and 5S activities, and have successfully spear-headed plant wide 5S events across multiple departments and shifts. My attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot a problem or process is one of my greatest strengths. As a manager for the second shift, I was able to work independently while maintaining communication with the entire company’s workforce. This allowed me to gain a better understanding of the challenges that were affecting production yields so that I could make adjustments to increase efficiency. Due to the limited resources available on the second shift, the company relied on my resourceful attitude, industrious work ethic, and broad skill set to keep the shift in operation. I also functioned as the safety team leader, which required that I follow up on all reported safety issues, develop a plan to correct specific concerns, identify other areas where similar conditions may exist, and implement an approved solution. I am dependable, conscientious, a quick study, and willing to learn new skills. I live by the motto "you learn something new everyday".
