Served as an engineer in an individual contributor capacity to the department that is tasked with taking over and operating the electric distribution utility of Cavite Economic Zone (CEZ) located in Rosario, Cavite. During the initial phase of establishing operation in CEZ, provided broad support to the team, sharing hands-on knowledge of electric distribution utility processes, generating regular reports to management, coordinating with other department, and assuming various roles and acquiring specific skills needed to successfully operate the CEZ distribution utility. Responsibilities eventually became focused on the commercial side of the utility, handling service application, managing of foreign attachments on poles and designing proposals and management of the technical services (TS) offerings. Created and maintained a stand-alone MS Office database application, that partially automated processes of the TS proposal generation and TS related materials inventory, which is still being utilized to date.Currently holds functional leadership role in managing TS projects, which involves generating leads, negotiating project costs, and ensuring project completion and customer satisfaction. The successful execution of TS projects has resulted to an additional net income of P34M between Jan 2020 to Dec 2022 from the successful execution of TS projects. Has explored opportunities from the inevitable proliferation of renewable energy (RE) in CEZ and has taken a leading role in developing and designing RE-specific rates that secures company’s income from the possible reduction of energy sales due to REs. Additionally, responsible for processing applications for RE facility installations in CEZ as more customers embrace sustainability in their operations.

Ghana

Assumed an analyst role in company’s business development department tasked with exploring distribution operations service opportunities outside the company’s franchise area. Subsequently deployed overseas as Commercial Executive to provide guidance to the management of Power Distribution Services (PDS) Ghana.Worked closely with the managers of PDS’s customer retail services department and identified opportunities for service improvement and system losses reduction. Provided regular reports and recommendations to PDS management to ensure achievement of the committed levels loss reduction in Technical, Commercial and Collection of PDS in operating the distribution utility under its concession.

Cavite Economic Zone

Worked as an assistant to the Vice-President (VP). Generated weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports for internal and external client presentations. Led the annual budgeting, planning and review activity of the group. Consolidated and documented the groups’ planning and budgeting outputs. Monitored key performance indicators and provided insights and forecasts based on the inputs of relationship managers and technical service engineers. Handled resolution of numerous special and delicate client complaints and requests referred to the office of the VP.

Assigned as staff engineer of Billing group responsible for generating, validating, and distributing all power billing of company’s commercial and industrial accounts. Tasked to investigate and analyze possible cases of billing adjustments for accounts with defective meters, metering installations, or meter reading errors. Recommended adjustment of bills based on company’s guidelines and generated formal letters to customers explaining basis of bill adjustment. Regularly met with customers to further explain the cause and basis of bill adjustment, negotiated a more amicable basis if available, and recomputed adjustments if necessary. Generated executive summaries whenever escalation to higher management was necessary. Additionally, handled computation of differential billing of accounts with cases of tampered meter and/or metering installation, which requires the immediate issuance of demand letters to customers. In special circumstances, attended court hearings as company’s witness to when called for, should a case of tampered meter and/metering elevate to a lawsuit.
