R&D Scientist for the development of IVD assays. Responsible for target analysis; experimental design; data collection and analysis; and providing guidance to research associates.

Studied the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying social chemical communication and multisensory integration to provide insight into neural coding strategies using the powerful model organism C. elegans. Primary Research:• Developed hypotheses based on literature• Designed and executed behavioral experiments• Designed constructs for creation of transgenic animals• Performed laser microsurgery on animals via compound microscopy and DIC optics• Measured neural activity utilizing microfluidics and calcium transients • Collaborated with other researchers, leading to two published manuscripts• Won contests for public speaking and strong communication skillsI extensively utilized molecular biology (PCR, Electrophoresis, Gateway Technologies, Gibson Assembly, Traditional Restriction Digest/Ligation Cloning, Translational Fusions, Reporter Design, RT-qPCR) primarily for C. elegans transgenics, imaging (Laser microsurgery of C. elegans neurons utilizing DIC optics, microfluidic in vivo calcium imaging of neural activity utilizing fluorescence microscopy, Apotome and Confocal microscopy for identification of cellular and subcellular localization sites of proteins, analysis with software such as ZenPro and ImageJ) , and behavioral assays (animal behavior valence studies, such as acute response or chemotaxis over time, locomotion studies using worm tracking software) . New lab set-up:• Developed protocols, techniques, and standardized procedures new to the lab - e.g. calcium imaging and RT-qPCR • Managed undergraduate (major qualifying projects) and high school (volunteer) student projects
