Bangkok

This post was designed to provide leadership, technical support and strategic advice to 15 countries of the region for planning, monitoring and evaluation. Key achievements included successful coordination and experience sharing among countries of the region for CPD and MTR preparation; quality assurance for UNICEF and UN documents and processes in the region and facilitation of RBM, PPP and SPR workshops at country and regional levels;

Windhoek, Namibia

This post was designed to facilitate the planning, program development, monitoring and evaluation of the UNICEF-Namibia Country Program. Successfully managed and coordinated preparation of AWP, Annual and Midterm Reviews, timely and high quality donor reports. Coordinated and facilitated the preparation of a Country Office Fundraising strategy.

Asmara, Eritrea

Key achievements included successful planning and resource mobilization for UNICEF’s response to a complex emergency; chairing of the WASH group including facilitating needs assessment, planning and ordering of emergency supplies, successful coordination of preparation of a Bridging Program and a Program of Cooperation and chairing of CPMP/IB task force including writing and defending the CPMP document at PBR meeting. Participated in the steering committee for the production of the CCA and UNDAF. Acted as OIC of UNICEF Asmara for 5 months.

Yangon, Myanmar

In response to the complex situation in the country provided strong support for data collection and analysis as well as for policy analysis and planning. Played strategic role in the design, organization, and implementation of a successful midterm review process. Tasks included planning, preparation of guidelines, writing and editing of key documents, preparation and delivery of key presentations on Investment in Children, Overview of main achievements, constraints and lessons learned in the first half of the country program; High level study tour led to adoption of successful new approaches to birth registration

Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania

Provided technical assistance to an inter-ministerial task force for preparation, implementation and monitoring of the National Program of Action for Children and development of a National Children’s Policy; Provided technical assistance to the National Planning Commission for social sector goals monitoring including for surveys, strengthening of routine systems and exchange of ideas and best practices with neighboring countries; Coordination of the midterm review process including planning, production of guidelines, establishment and progress monitoring of seven program task forces, monitoring and reporting on milestones and editing of documents; Discussion and advocacy with the World Bank on debt conversion and social sector strategies and policies. Prepared UNICEF background papers for Consultative Group meetings including a concept paper on debt conversion;
