About Christopher Davies
I am software engineer with also over 10 years worth of experience in information technology used across a variety of industries, who is currently living in Brisbane and looking to enter the field of Cyber Security. I've had a rather eclectic but rewarding career path to reach this point and because of it, I bring a diverse set of skills to the table. Whether it is working with a company establishing operations in Australia for the first time, to plotting out a network connection 180km in length to Tamworth exchange, to pushing dice around with a stick on a Saturday night at a Craps table, I've learnt through it all and aimed to excel. I am always looking to train or retrain, and thus I've spent the past year recently completing a Certificate in Cyber Security at TAFE. Given its nature as an emerging field, this will not be the last I study here and I am already looking for more opportunities to study and improve upon my knowledge in this critical field.The various industries, work experience and recent upskilling have moulded me into a well-rounded individual who can offer both technical and soft skills to contribute a team's success. At the same time, I am also career-motivated and always am open to learning. As such I look forward to seeing where my next role takes me and how I can continue to improve myself.As a final note, I love Wargaming and have even won several world championships representing Australia. Given that it was highly streamed on the internet, I suppose for the context of work those represent a pretty good endorsement of my ability to perform under pressure!

I was employed for the full examination period and there were no issues to be found in my work.

Shoeboxed is an IT business that specialises in scanning of documents or business cards and presenting them in an electronic format to the customer, complete with extracted information that has been verified by a human operator. I joined Shoeboxed a month after it started business in Australia. I worked at Shoeboxed Australia initially as an Engineering Intern, then returned later after returning to University as part timer providing helpdesk support. I currently work there as a data operator and help train new staff members. The majority of my experience within the industry comes from working here. This includes some technical work but also a large degree of client/customer interaction. Much of the procedure I established with regards to operations is still being used to this day.
