The jobs main tasks are ensuring all pipe, fittings and fusion are installed to standards expected by Enbridge.Additional administrative roles include ensuring all crew members have current and appropriate OQ’s for the task at hand. Checking that all Blue Stake are marked and tickets, along with City permits where required, are valid and legal before excavation begins. I also act as an additional check to ensure the HSE procedures of Enbridge are carried out throughout the jobsite.I will occasionally have to liaise between the Enbridge sales rep (individual who put a job/work order together) when unexpected difficulties are encountered. This can result in me having to make the case for or against additional payment, on behalf of the subcontractor, for tasks that go beyond the original scope of work (e.g. rock trench, frost and double shading).

Short term contract work based in the Greater Carlsbad New Mexico area.Roles included providing support to the Construction Site Manager, QC Leads, Mechanical and Piping Supervisors. This would involve writing RFI (requests for Information) to the Client or Samuel Project Management, tracking key data/information and distributing to the respective foremen so that task could be accomplished. I also had responsibility to capture and document any adverse project related events/busts to feed back to the Project Management team or for the Client to obtain rework authorization. I had an onsite document control role, redlining P&ID and ISO drawings, managing sub-contractors, writing site specific JSA’s (job safety assessments), and assisted in the procurement, delivery and storage of materials required at the jobsite.

A Triassic aged fluvial reservoir in the pre-start-up phase of production.• Part of getting the field ready for start-up focused on making sure the current model was fit for purpose by incorporating updated data from an ocean bottom cable seismic (OBC) survey.• Fault analysis of the new fault model derived from the OBC.• Integrating QI Promise Inversion derived porosity cube in co-kriging the current Corrib Reference Case Models porosity model. • Challenged the benefit (against cost) of carrying out a new chemostrat study. Feasibility exercises showed that a new study would prove successful, however, unless at start-up the current static and dynamic models were proven to be dramatically wrong, there was no need to carry out the study, saving >£120,000 (GBP).• HCPV maps comparing vintages of the Corrib Reference Case Model, showing changes in the distribution of hydrocarbons. Maps were used by the RE’s to enable them updating of their dynamic model.Along with all of my Production Geology roles with Shell I have been active in promoting sedimentology as the office focal point of the Shell Global Clastic Sedimentology network (SedNet), arranging talks and co-chairing the 2015 Face-2-Face meeting of Global Subject Matter Experts.Run core workshop for other development teams, new-hire/graduates, summer interns and school and University classes from 8 year olds to MSc students. Represented Shell explaining the geology of the Goldeneye Field, to the local community, planned to be the first major CCS project in the UK.

PhD Title is “Investigation into the origin and significance of Hybrid event beds in mixed sand/mud deep sea fan systems” carried out at UCD under the supervision of Peter Haughton and Bill McCaffrey at University of Leeds.The project included both outcrop (Mam Tor Derbyshire, Brushy Canyon Formation West Texas) and core (Palaeocene cores taken from across the Forties Fan system of the UK CNS) data in identifying and categorising hybrid flows. The project also suggested possible mechanisms for the formation and impact hybrid flow events can have on hydrocarbon reservoirs.Funding for the project came from Consortium Sponsorship and as a Research Demonstrator in the School of Geological Sciences UCD assiting in the teaching of undergraduate classes. Duties included demonstrating in practical classes and collecting undergraduate work in and grading papers; preparing and running a 6 week course of practical classes for 3rd year Civil Engineers students; leading undergraduate field classes and be an academic tutor to 1st year geology students.
