I have been enjoying and studying about Japanese foods since 1972. My first visit to Japan was in 1979. Since then I have worked tirelessly, to convert/upgrade more Japanese artisan food producers into making certified plant-based organic foods and beverages. Now I continue doing such work with artisan food producers in some 20 countries and more recently in South Korea. Our family business, Clearspring Limited, now markets such organic foods in over 60 countries worldwide. On 25 May 2007 at a special ceremony in Tokyo, the Award for the Overseas Promotion of Japanese Food from the Ministry of Agriculture was presented to me, Chairman of Clearspring Ltd, by the late Minister of Agriculture, Mr Toshikatsu Matsuoka, and in the presence of ex-prime minister, Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, in recognition of his contribution to promoting awareness of Japanese food abroad. Everyday 385,000 babies are born worldwide. I firmly believe it is the inherent birth right of each and every one of these babies to have access to foods and drinks which are Organic, Plant-Based and without Added refined sweeteners, at least initially until the age of 7. Then they will know the taste of organic food for life.Aristotle once said, “Give me a child until he is 7 and I will show you the man.” Daily I work on this limitless goal.
