I am a current undergraduate student at the University of Florida, seeking a Bachelor's Degree in journalism at the College of Journalism and Communications.I have worked in the WUFT newsroom as a reporter. I have published stories including text, photography and audio wraps. I also have limited experience in creating videos for a newsroom. I have focused especially on data visualization during my schooling.I was put on local elections coverage for WUFT during August to November 2024.I have an advanced knowledge in creative writing (with an emphasis on creative fiction and poetry), AP style writing, basic broadcasting writing, interviewing, public speaking and research. I am also fairly well versed in accompanying skills in editing and writing feedback.I additionally have extensive experience with most relevant Microsoft Office programs, with an especial understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel. I have an intermediate understanding of using and interpreting OpenRefine and cleaning and analyzing data.I am familiar in Adobe products and print/web design, although I focus more on written and spoken content than presentation in my field. I have an applicable knowledge and use of the programming languages HTML, CSS and JavaScript.My chosen outside concentration has been anthropology, most specifically human archaeology, with some additional elementary forays within the subfields of human sexuality, basic linguistics and global health.Years of on-the-job experience in customer service jobs has lent me significant skills in leadership, team management and time/resource management. As a trusted employee of both my current and previous jobs, I have achieved an expectation of above average performance and am often left in charge should my management be absent.On the side, I enjoy consuming and analyzing media, especially fictional novels. I have an interest in content creation as a hobby, and I am currently working on several personal projects regarding this.
