As a Laboratory Technician, I currently work in the Quality Control department, were I am responsible for the testing of a range of bottled and brewed products. Testing includes the measure of CO2, Preservatives, Colour, Haze, pH, Total Acidity, Oxygen content, Density, %ABV and VDK analysis, using a number of techniques including distillation and titration and a range of analytical equipment such as HPLC, UV-Vis and Turbidimetry. From these tests it is also my responsibility to calculate the correct additions to alter any out of specification blends. Other duties include daily calibrations of all laboratory equipment, testing of effluent from local water supplies and hourly checks of the production line to ensure that all packaging meets quality requirements.
