I am a journalist with a passion for sports, fishing and feature writing. I am currently a freelancer writer for B.A.S.S., and a sports stringer for The Daily Reflector and the Kinston Free Press. Previously, I was the lead sports reporter for the South Strand News in Georgetown, SC. I have covered high school sports as well as covered general news events. In college, I worked as the managing editor and sports editor for The Northerner, the independent school newspaper of Northern Kentucky University. I have covered major college athletics for three years, including covering NCAA Tournament games for the NKU men's basketball team and NKU women's soccer team. I have also worked with the NKY Tribune to produce high school football previews for teams in the Northern Kentucky area. I was named a SPJ Region 5 Collegiate Mark of Excellence Finalist for Sports Reporting in the spring of 2017 and awarded the Carl West Memorial Journalism Scholarship for the Bluegrass Chapter of SPJ.
