For four years now, I have had the pleasure of trying to explain to TSA agents why my suitcase was full of stone products when passing through security. Each time I pitch a different reason and carefully watch their reaction. Each time I record the data and start planning what I can do to improve their look when I give my reason, but not to the point of arrest. You have to test your customers to know what sells! Before I ran a business, I was able to spend time working at a plethora of different jobs in completely different industries. From farming crop and livestock to commercial aviation and construction I've done a lot! This has helped shape and improve my best quality, figuring out a solution to a problem, no matter how small or large of a task that might be. I truly enjoy everything that comes along with growing a business. I started DeFeo Materials in March of 2016. That previous fall I was fed up with college forcing me to sit in classes that were in no way productive to my education or interests. Since then I have worked 80+ hours every week and couldn't be happier. I have some of the most talented, bright employees as well as unbelievable subcontractors on my team. Finding the right people for the job can be challenging but in my opinion it comes down to what an individual has in them. Everyone has a talent and skill that is superior from others. The key is to figure out exactly what that is and put that to work. Between all those special talents, the team WILL move forward. I see myself never retiring, I want to reach the limit that the world has for me, not limit myself. I follow my goals and dream big, however for the most part these dreams are realistic.For some, the sky is the limit. We live in a generation that space travel will be a reality at some point, there is not limit in space so why limit yourself at the sky!
