About Christopher Dewolf

Christopher DeWolf is a journalist based in Hong Kong and Montreal. His work focuses on urbanism, design, culture and art, as well as social issues, politics, media, small business, history and heritage.Christopher is the author of "Borrowed Spaces: Life Between the Cracks of Modern Hong Kong" (Penguin 2017), which explores the tension between grassroots and top-down city life. He is also managing editor of Zolima CityMag, an arts and culture magazine, and he contributes regularly to the South China Morning Post, the BBC, the Wall Street Journal, Hong Kong Tatler, CLADmag, Design Anthology and several other publications. Christopher was previously deputy editor of Surface Asia magazine and his work has appeared in TIME, Munchies, The Guardian, Roads & Kingdoms, Travel + Leisure, La Presse and Radio-Canada's Bande à part.Before moving to Hong Kong in 2008, Christopher wrote regularly for the Montreal Gazette and the Montreal Mirror. He was urban issues columnist for Maisonneuve from 2004 to 2009 and a founding editor of the urban issues blog Spacing Montreal.Christopher’s photos have appeared in numerous newspapers, magazines, advertisements and books, including the cover of "Histoire de la littérature québécoise." His photos have also been featured in the Morris Centre's 2016 exhibition "Hong Kong and the Home Front," the Musée de la civilisation du Québec‘s 2008/2009 exhibition, "Urbanopolis," and they were exhibited internationally as part of the Institut de la ville en mouvement‘s 2008/2009 show, “La rue est à nous… tous!“Specialties: Writing, editing, photography.
