Northern Border Transportation Specialist
CurrentChris serves as a program and technical specialist on International transportation issues involving the United States/Canadian border. Working with the 11 FHWA Division offices that share road and bridge infrastructure with Canada, Chris develops policies and procedures which implement Federal legislation and regulations. He provides program support and technical assistance to key federal, state, regional, and local border stakeholders. Chris coordinates a range of border activities and assists in implementing various border programs including the strategic planning elements of the work of the Transportation Border Working Group. He acts as a liaison with other Federal agencies in the United States and Canada and works closely with FHWA/USDOT Headquarters personnel on numerous border activities and initiatives. Additionally, he is a certified instructor for the National Highway Institute teaching courses throughout the United States in freight and transportation planning. Chris works out of the FHWA Michigan Division office in Lansing.
