CurrentManage Rail Tank Cars, outside carrier Bulk Liquid moves, and Carrier packaged LTL moves.Obtain, negotiate, publish, and renew rail tank car rates. Track railcars insure we are using the right railcars and linings with the right products. Monitor lease terms and lease expiration dates. Resolve problems with the railroads when railcars are delayed, bad ordered, or lost.Track railcar shipments of sulfuric acid to insure accurate planning with supply. Monitor time the railcars spend on property and when they are released back to the railroad when emptied. Coordinate with plant supervisor on unloading railcars to avoid demurrage charges. Determine expected demurrage charges and compare to billing. Track sulfuric acid shipments and usage to better determine the needs of the plant and customers. Coordinate outside Drivers moving stock and live orders into and out of the Plant to attempt to minimize waiting time of drivers and Coordination of product availability. Meet Carrier Representatives to review billing, service offerings, and rates. Track shipments on carriers. Get quotes for all Bulk and LTL shipments to and from Thatcher and periodic third party shipping rates and schedule pickups and deliveries for such loads.Insure all carriers have satisfactory safety ratings, safety plan, current DOT number, Hazmat certificate, and Thatcher required minimum insurance coverage.
