Chris is responsible for evaluating accounting and financial reporting standards proposals issued by the FASB, IASB, SEC, and PCAOB. Chris establishes task forces of constituents and works with members to develop consensus views on standard setting proposals pertinent to the real estate industry. Chris drafts formal submissions in response these proposals. After proposals are finalized by standard setters, Chris assists members in their implementation efforts by developing consistent implementation methodologies and vetting issues with representatives from the large public accounting firms and standard setters. Chris is charged with managing the activities of Nareit's Best Financial Practices Council. The Council consists of CFOs and CAOs from public real estate companies, as well as representatives from public accounting firms and buy-side and sell-side investors and analysts. Chris frequently speaks at industry conferences on matters related to current developments in accounting and financial reporting.Chris provides technical and implementation support to Nareit members and develops educational programs to support members’ timely understanding of new and proposed standards.

Before joining Nareit, Chris served as a Senior Manager in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Banking and Capital Markets Practice. He provided both accounting advisory and audit services to large domestic and international financial institutions. While at PwC, Chris completed a tour of duty in PwC’s National Professional Services Group. In this role, he provided accounting and consulting services in the areas of financial instruments, transfers of financial assets, securitization, debt restructuring, and consolidation. Chris graduated summa cum laude from King’s College and is a Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New Jersey.
