• Prepare and liaise with BP personnel on shutdown requirements and affect waste requirements during the refinery shutdown.• Prepare monthly reporting on all waste tonnage and waste-related costs for submission to client corporate head office.• Liaise with project managers to ensure specific needs of individual projects identified.• Orchestrate bin placements to obtain maximal waste segregation and recycling opportunities.• Streamline efficiency of site waste disposal through customised bin placement and regular audits of bin usage.• Implement innovative ideas to divert waste streams from landfill.• Manage the site Landfarm for stockpiling and remediation of contaminated soil generated through site projects.• Manage the site Setdown Area as a localised waste area for timber, scrap steel, concrete, general wastes and chemicals.• Identify disposal options and provide quotes upon request for hazardous waste material.• Attend and present at contractor toolboxes to educate staff and offer support to work towards improving correct waste segregation and minimise contamination.• Collect samples of waste materials and soil for chemical analysis.• Meet Waste Contract KPIs to ensure customer satisfaction regarding service and safety.• Meet challenging deadlines for corporate and regulatory reporting.• Respond to environmental incidents and coordinate clean-ups.• Build strong relationships with contractors, peers and other key stakeholders.• Manage documentation for all regulatory requirements for Department of Environment and Heritage Protection.• Develop waste management procedures for BP and Veolia to comply with the highest of standards in positive leadership for minimal impact to the environment.
