I am currently in my 4th and final year of my apprenticeship at Bott. I've learned a lot along the way, but still plenty more I want to do and learn. I am currently being trained on the punching machines, where this requires me setting up the turret layouts for a wide range of parts that we manufacture that is outlined by the job sheets we receive from the drawing office. Running the punching machines also requires me to fix problems as they arise whilst the machine is in operation and forcing me to being ahead so that the machines have as little downtime as possible.

Worked as a trainee electrician within my brother's company. During my time with the company, I would be sent out to emergency call outs and various jobs around North Devon, Cornwall and sometimes further afield. The jobs I performed could be routine socket installs to new builds requiring the installation of electrical systems. This also includes house rewires, fusebox upgrades, outside lighting and sockets, conservatories, bathrooms and other related jobs.I also worked closely with Living Needs and Westcountry Plumbers & Builders on their jobs that required electrical installations.

During my time at Co-op, I was given a lot of different roles and responsibilities which included accepting or rejecting and documenting deliveries (ambient, fresh and frozen), stock checks, till checks and cash office duties. On some rare occasions, I also dealt with customer complaints and queries. I also helped to run the bakery, which included setting up the ovens and managing my time responsibly so that product would be put on the shop floor at the correct times. I also covered other employees shifts as and when required due to my reliability and flexibility to fill virtually any role within the store.I applied for the supervisor role when it became available as I had already been doing parts of the role already but was denied due to my inexperience and a new manager taking over. Due to this and feeling like I wasn't being given the chance to improve and step up, I decided to broaden my horizons and left Co-op.
