Gemba team member and worked on CAPA, direct customer complaints, production yield FPY/FPQ for Diagnostic Electronics, Ophthalmoscopes, and Otoscope areas.Responsibilities included traditional Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering including performing Time Studies, developing and implementing Standard Work, continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, plant and assembly cell layout, inventory control (Kanban) support, assembly line balancing (load leveling), implementing and maintaining 5s, improving current production tooling, designing new assembly tooling, preventative maintenance, and ergonomics. Work Environment: Manual and Automated Processes, FDA Quality System Regulations 21 CFR 820 and ISO 13845 regulated environment. Production system – SAP. Additional duties and experience: Prepared and executed process validations and verifications for new manufacturing processes. This included re-verification activities following layout changes to improve plant layout, plant to plant product line transfers for facilities consolidation (consolidation of Beaverton, Oregon facility, and as follow up to Kaizens). Past projects include major shipping layout reconfiguration, Kaizens, and facilities changes including cell layout changes and removing and changing plant structures to create more floor space and better flow. Projects increased available manufacturing floor space by 2000 ft². Certified to the level of Lean Six/Sigma Green Belt by Welch Allyn and the Rochester Institute of Technology. Certified Lean Six/Sigma Black Belt - classes and project completed.

Senior Process Engineer - Developed new Hybrid Manufacturing system for Cortland, New York facility and transferred 100+ customers to this new system. Developed project costs ($1.1M), presented information to management for final project approval, and was the Senior Process Engineer during the installation and startup of the system. Acted as Product Development, Process, Quality, and Procurement Engineer for the system and completed all required activities and brought online 120 new parts per year. System created 11 new jobs for the division. Additionally acted as startup Product Development Engineer and ASTM representative, for electroformed products and sieves from January 2003 to August 2003. This operation was transferred from the companies Minnesota Facility. Knowledge of Nickel, Copper, and Gold electroforming.Work environment: ISO-9001Additional experiences: Strong hands on knowledge of off-contact coordinate measuring machines, continuous coil-to-coil processing equipment, all types of quality equipment, plotting and phototool generating equipment, microscopes, various chemical manufacturing processes including plating and etching.
