Provide vision and leadership for the Office for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, fostering excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment, including advancement of the diversity, inclusion, and equity missions of URI, lead an evidence-based approach to faculty development and assessment, and contribute to, and support, the scholarship of teaching and learning across the university. Connect the office’s initiatives to the University’s strategic plan and institutional accreditation goals, and serve as the liaison to the provost’s office, deans, associate deans and Informational Technology Services.

Serve as Department Head of Teaching & Learning Innovation, the university’s home for faculty development. Also, support, develop, and lead programs, activities, and collaborative ventures on behalf of the Division of Faculty Affairs that promote teaching excellence, increased faculty support, and strengthen student success across the university.

Serve as Lead Administrator over Teaching & Learning Innovation, the university's home for faculty development and the majority of its faculty success initiatives (teaching.utk.edu).

Served as Director of the university's QEP, while also having responsibility for oversight of additional initiatives within the Teaching & Learning Innovation unit (service-learning, experiential learning, assessment, graduate student support programs, and inclusive teaching opportunities). Also responsible for unit annual programs, such as New Faculty Teaching Institute, Innovative Teaching & Learning Conference, and faculty awards programming.

Served as Director of the university's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), which is tied to the university's accreditation efforts. We successfully completed the QEP in March 2021.
