Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Director of Information Technology role works directly with the CFO and COO to research, develop, implement and improve all aspects of the Technology sector within a $1B+ multinational Mining, Refining and Manufacturing Metallurgical organization.Tasked with migrating to a new Managed Services partner while modernizing all systems from their previously antiquated hardware-based environment to the Cloud, I have successfully overseen several large projects to fruition.• Upgraded the Cisco VoIP phone system to Cisco’s WebEx Calling platform, reducing monthly costs by more than 80% and allowing for international expansion on the platform• Oversaw the platform change for both ERP solutions in house from end of life, hardware-based applications to Cloud hosted modern solutions. Oracle backed Hyperion was moved to Host Analytics Cloud and IFS 3 was brought up to IFS 11• On Prem hosted Exchange 2003 was migrated to Office 365 allowing global receipt, mobile clients and a more secure environment• In order to accommodate our global organization, Microsoft File Server was replaced with Dropbox for Business giving worldwide access to data for our Executive Team while traveling to developing nations that we have business ventures in, while allowing for real time, secured data flow• Utilizing our Managed Service Partner, Evolve IP we have upgraded our on prem Network to a Cloud based environment including Cloud Firewalls and an MPLS-lite scenario leveraging CloudConnect devices to amplify connections between sites, while reducing costs, increasing security and creating Remote Access that was previously unsupported• Integrated ZenOpz Security partners in to our environment to define our Security posture, create and implement Corporate wide Policies and Procedures, process Penetration Testing and Reporting as well as Disaster Recovery procedures. As Senior Lead within a Global IT organization, the Senior Infrastructure Engineer position required a high level of interaction with end users and Executive team alike communicating research, development, integration and maintenance plans to each level directly. Vendor relations was a daily practice while maintaining all aspects of mobile environment, purchasing and deployment of hardware and end user support to over 1200 users in North America. • Worked closely with Global Support Team to integrate NetSuite, Salesforce, and ServiceNow into daily services and applications. Boomi was used as the bridge between systems to allow for streamlined access and data integrity • Created automated deployment system utilizing Windows Deployment Services to establish a global imaging platform able to distribute new hardware on demand in a high technological turn over environment• Leveraging Crystal Communications partnership, we instituted Mobile Manager self-service portal for cellular usage that mitigated well over $500k in annual cellular costs in North America while expanding the services available to all users• Through a partnership with PCM, we negotiated the first global purchasing agreement with Hewlett Packard guaranteeing us in country SKUs, discounted pricing and on demand next day Technical Support throughout the world. This effort was in close conjunction with the CFO and his executive finance team and created a $750k-1M annual spend globally• As Qlik expanded through acquisition, I was tasked with integrating disparate technologies purchased with the new groups, upgrading where applicable and depreciating that which was no longer viable while connecting to our domain and infrastructure. • I trained all new hires in the North American Sales organization in terms of existing technologies as well as emerging ones and was on call for customer facing training and implementations
