After enjoying over 25 years in the Retail Sector, 10 of which in Senior Management National UK roles, a short term consultancy role in December 2016 influenced a massive change in direction....A late move from Retail Management to Healthcare. An exciting challenge and refreshing to be learning and developing within the NHS environment. Having been through four CQC inspections since December 16 I have a real understanding of the challenges and expectations within the Primary care setting. When people ask what my job involves I would summarise as the 5 PE’sPATIENTS - providing leadership to maximise Patient Service / listening and responding to their needs and learning when we get it wrong PEOPLE - leading and engaging our teams and supporting their development PROCESS - Simplify what we do to ensure understanding and consistency from our teams POLICIES - supporting our way of working and ensuring we deliver legal / NHS compliance PROOF - ensuring we have a comprehensive audit trail supporting our operating requirements ENVIRONMENT - supporting an environment to facilitate great Patient care and delivering an environment where people want to workI have personally supported 4 CQC inspections fully and been instrumental in achieving a GOOD rating with my leadership singled out in one of the CQC reports.I have also supported the turnaround of a ‘Requires Improvement’ practice as well as significantly impact on the NHS choices ratingsMore recently been accountable for supporting the set up, development and operation of the Newham NW2 Primary Care Network.
