Administers daily purchasing and warehouse functions for a 500 patient home health care operation. Ensures all purchasing contracts are adhered to and fully utilized. Also responsible for maintaining accurate and appropriate supply par levels and all other functions related to warehouse activity. Additionally, manages all infusion pumps to make certain all pumps are working properly and are biomedically tested on an annual basis. Lowered overall inventory by 250k and improved warehouse efficiency to 16 turns. Increased contract utilization by 30%. Based on outstanding performance, selected to manage the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital purchasing department. Directly supervise six staff members, and fifteen contract personnel, indirectly. Ensure all healthcare purchasing requirements are met or exceeded. Administer Trinity Corporate Purchasing and Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) contracts. Ensure all agreements are fully implemented, resulting in a maximum financial benefit for the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Manage the CTS biomedical equipment program, a multi-million dollar out-sourced five year contractual agreement.Under my expert guidance, the purchasing department increased the GPO compliance from approximately fifty to eighty-percent. This significantly increased product standardization, providing an annual contract savings of $800,000.Implemented EDI/automated ordering procedures, this action streamlines the ordering process. The increased purchasing efficiencies and productivity contributes to outstanding customer service, and provided the stepping stone for negotiating additional cost-savings with our prime vendors – $120,000 annual cost-savings, $720,000 program savings to-date.Developed/Implemented stockless and just in time (JIT) program (ValueLink). This program resulted in a reduction of 5 FTE’s and provided the hospital with 10,000 additional square feet of space.
