In an effort to tackle the issue of food waste, and improve composting awareness and signage around Cornell's campus, my project team created and sent out a composting survey that had more than 120 responses. The results of the survey showed us that while a majority of students thought composting was important, many students were unaware of constructive composting practices. Therefore, we came up with the solution to visually educate the Cornell community. We designed 6-sided cubes with information pertaining to composting on each side so as to show the Cornell community how simple, yet effective, composting could be with the right knowledge. Each side contains information about a different aspect of composting, with one side telling the reader what is compostable in a specific Cornell cafe.
