For over 49 years I have built my career in banking and trading in a variety of leading financial institutions in London. Over the last 8 years I have worked as INED Chair of Audit and Risk with subsidiaries of global Asian banks. During this time, I have developed an extensive knowledge and understanding of working practices within an international group, fully utilising their resources, but keeping solid internal controls and procedures to ensure maintaining the required independence as a UK regulated subsidiary. I have enjoyed applying the people skills I have acquired over the years, such as motivating and leading teams, to a board setting, in order to achieve the best outcomes.I currently chair the Audit and Risk Committee for Kexim Bank UK Ltd (SMF10,11) as well as being a member of the main board. I also chair the Audit Compliance and Risk Committee for Philippine National Bank Europe (SMF10,11).Other regulatory approved functions I have held in the past, SMF10, CF21, CF29 and CF30.I have also undertaken consultancy work for smaller banks, specialising in treasury related topics, strategy, risk appetite, ICAAP, ILAAP, stress testing etc.I have lectured on SMCR and conduct risk for the BTRM (Banks Treasury Risk Management Certificate).Key Competencies• Treasury and Fixed Income: covering a wide diversity of products and areas including pro-active liquidity and cash management, (a solid understanding of CRDIV and Basel 3.1 regulation as well as the current PRA/FCA requirements), ICAAP, ILAAP, RRP, risk appetite, interest rates, foreign exchange, Government Bonds, Corporate Bonds, derivatives (both hedging and trading) which include Financial Futures, Swaps, Options, Swaptions, management of investment portfolios, the pricing and offering of UK internet retail fixed rate bond offerings, fund transfer pricing, repos, use and setting up of a Bank of England Reserve Account and the Sterling Monetary Framework, EMIR, MIFID II, traditional trade finance, structured trade commodity finance and the pricing of USD, EUR and GBP assets.• Risk, Regulation and Compliance Expertise• Significant oversight and Corporate Governance experience • Multicultural experience: wide ranging expertise in Treasury, Capital Markets and fund management within British, European, Asian and African banks/ securities organisations.Other current roles:-Whistleblowing Champion, Consumer duty Champion
