As the All-Star Location Coordinator for the NHL, I was tasked recruiting, event preparation, venue evaluation, and extreme confidentiality. My recruiting responsibilities were to recruit and direct over 300 part-time employees and direct them to our external hiring company so that they would be onboarded in time for the event. The recruitment process was conducted through various grassroots means such as tabling during game nights. During event preparation, I was tasked with ensuring the FLA Live arena was being prepped with graphics and signage. This was completed by sending graphics to individuals who needed them and gathering information to send to the main office in New York. I also was tasked with ensuring that FLA Live and other facilities being used during the weekend were up to the expectations and standards that the NHL has for hosting this event. The final phase, event execution, centered around managing, scheduling, and assigning part-time employees to various locations across South Florida. This was done when on-the-fly decisions needed to happen promptly and clear communication between myself and the hiring firm was necessary. All of these phases and experiences lead to one of the most successful NHL All Star weekends in recent memory for the league, fans, and shareholders alike.
