Chris has over 30 years of experience in developing and applying complex photochemical air quality modeling systems addressing ozone, particulate matter and toxic air pollution at urban, regional and global scales. His ethic is to provide high quality, technically appropriate, objective scientific analyses that lay the groundwork for sound environmental decisions. His expertise includes all facets of air quality and meteorological analyses supporting US government air regulations (e.g., SIP, PSD, NEPA, CEQA), assessment of source attribution, prospective and retrospective air quality trends, effects of alternative control strategies, and health risk assessments for exposure to airborne and deposited pollutants. Chris' clients have included urban, regional, and national governmental agencies, commercial industry, as well as numerous institutions/associations/consortia in the US and around the world. He has been involved in assessing unique mitigation measures such as "cool communities" concepts to reduce urban heat islands with air quality co-benefits. Chris' professional interests include examining co-benefits between air pollution and climate change mitigation.
