I'm a graduate of both the University of Kentucky, and the University of Pikeville. Spent a year studying at the Geospatial Intelligence Agency in Washington D.C. (2007), and four years with the 101st Airborne Division (Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom-15 months). My career path was once centered around law, or teaching. Now.... I am pursing what I really love. While at the University of Kentucky, I began submitting my comics and cartoons to the "Kentucky Kernel". It was after winning the Kentucky Press Association 'Mark of Excellence Award' for editorial cartoon back to back years (2012-2013) that I decided to pursue a career in what I really like (love) doing... drawing. This would lead to the launching of "Epling Illustrations".It was after my first published book titled "Erby's Turn to Rake" that I began illustrating for publishing companies. Since 2010, I've illustrated 15 books for other authors, and 4 books of my own. Please take a second and check out those works by visiting my website! The link is here: http://www.christopherepling.com/published_books.htmlI've served as the Art Director for St. Francis of Assisi School (Pikeville, KY) and the Art Director for the Challenger Learning Center (Hazard, Ky). I am an adjunct at the University of Pikeville where I teach Photoshop and a Creating Comics class. There's also a workshop I've created for grades 1-12 too that's featured through Berea College (where I am listed as one of their feature artists as well). The workshops is offered for both in-person visits and virtual workshops. It's been welcomed in over 300 schools since 2011 and recognized by the Kentucky House of Representatives. With that, I offer everything from one day, to weekly residencies.
