I have been working at Jersey Mike’s since late 2022. This is my first job in the workforce, and I have climbed my way to the top employees now. They are the ones who know what needs to be done at a given time and who can slice cold subs. I am also the primary closer at the location who cleans the store and preps for tomorrow morning for the opener. It is a massive achievement to reach in very little time of 6 months. My experience with the job taught me how to speak with customers, employees, and what is expected of a job. I remember the first evening shift I started, my coworker asked to get a soda from the fridge. As soon as I got it for him I started to open it right in front of him, I quickly learned its for an online order. Now, I am slicing sandwiches in front of customers, teaching employees, conversating with my fellow coworkers to get to know them, and being on the grill often as well. The most valuable lesson I learned, its ok to act casual in a work environment, just be yourself.

  Manage crew members to keep a steady flow of the store. Teach crew members maintaining the standard high for all employes. Clean the lobby, counter, tables, and floors of the whole establishment. Deck brush, squeegee, and mop to shine and polish floors. Provide excellent customer service and delicious food slicing or grilling subs. Cash handling and counting at night while meat prepping and bread making for the following day.
