• Invent, research, and design novel electronic devices and applications for the release and monitoring of building fire suppression systems. Focus on RF battery powered devices and low- voltage DC distributed control networks. • Develop requirements, design, build, and test devices to required industry standards (UL, NFPA, etc.), and participate in full-scale fire testing for approvals of designs for NPI’s.• Prototype circuit designs with a combination of COTS microcontrollers, bread/perf boards, and NI LabView equipment. • Maintained, operated, and repaired rental equipment, including portable generators ranging from 25KW to 2MW, A/C’s up to 80 tons, chillers up to 400 tons, diesel and electric rotary air compressors up to 1500 CFM, and electrical distribution (automatic transfer switches, transformers, rectifiers, etc.).• Calibrated generator voltage regulators and programmed Honeywell PLC’s for customer plant integration and equipment repair/upgrades.• Performed major overhauls and load testing on damaged generator ends.repair/upgrades.

Installed and tuned custom car audio systems, remote starters, and alarms on all makes and models of cars and trucks.

• Served as team lead for electrical grooms on gyroscopic fin stabilizer systems on cutters along the U.S. East-Coast and Bahrain. Developed class wide fin groom procedure for 110’ cutters.• Stood underway engineering watch and ran machinery plant while filling in crew shortages on various ships.• Performed preventive maintenance, calibration, and major repairs on various classes of ships and small boats. Areas of responsibility included sensor networks, hydraulic systems (high and low pressure), pneumatic control systems, diesel engines (exceeding 3000 HP), 440V 3-phase power (ungrounded systems), generators, Siemens and Honeywell PLC’s, power distribution, interior comms, fiber-optics, and various other shipboard electrical and mechanical systems.

• Inspected, maintained, and repaired mechanical systems including large/small diesel engines, HVAC equipment, refrigeration, sewage, and water purification (RO and evaporative). • Stood engineering plant watches in port and underway.• Served as LE boarding team member, Aviation Fuel Safety Officer, and underway helicopter refueling team member.
