As a photographer, Christopher Gabello’s subjects have ranged from the Queen of England to rappers like Waka Flocka Flame and Big Boi, model Cara Delevingne, actor Kevin Bacon, photographer Richard Kern, author Teddy Wayne, and British cult-comedian Simon Amstell. He’s shot for The New York Times and AdWeek, and covered New York & Paris Fashion Weeks for Vogue Magazine. Originally from the Poconos, Chris began working as a photojournalist in Philadelphia after graduating from Saint Joseph's University in the mid-2000s. His career developed rapidly: In 2008, he was asked to join then-Senator Barack Obama’s Democratic Primary campaign as the official photographer. Traveling in the campaign bus and standing next to veteran photographers like Annie Lebovitz. Chris’s true passion, however, lies in taking portraits. After moving to New York in 2011, he quickly found a creative home as a regular contributor to Andy Warhol’s former publication, Interview Magazine. Using his journalist instincts, Chris searches for that fleeting moment when a subject lets their guard down and connects with the camera. From environmental portraiture to studio fashion, Chris has a passion for the craft of photography continually seeking new inspiration and knowledge.Constantly searching for inspiration, in 2009 Chris established Gabello Studios –a group of like-minded artists operating as a boutique production house. In 2015, Gabello Studios transitioned to Standard Production Company and now has offices in Philadelphia and New York City where it continues to grow and offers a wide range of services, from film production to post-editing solutions. Chris is currently resides in Manhattan with his wife and sons.
