I taught in the graduate program of the School of Architecture and Urbanism while conducting research on the urban and social impacts of mega-events in Rio de Janeiro. In conjunction with several academic working groups throughout Rio, I am participated in the monitoring and evaluation of the developments associated with the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Summer Olympics.

Six Dimensions Sports Consulting (6DSC) is an international consulting firm that helps professional sports organizations maximize team performance--on and off the field. Using a unique combination of strategies and assessment tools, 6DSC works with management, coaches, staff, and players to identify team strengths and weaknesses, enhance communication, improve player training and game performance, and develop organizational strategies to generate greater levels of success.

I conducted research on the social and urban impacts of the 2007 Pan American Games, 2014 World Cup and 2016 Summer Olympic Bid. Rio de Janeiro is at the forefront of a global process that uses mega-events as mechanisms to stimulate social and economic development. As part of my Fulbright grant I taught a course on mega-events at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ).

Teaching a variety of courses in the department of Geography, Institute for the Study of the Americas, and the Curriculum in Area and International Studies. Since Jan 2007, I have taught: Intro to Latin American Studies; Urban Social Geography (2); Urban Geography; Social Theory and Cultural Diversity (2); Globalization and Sport (2); Stadium Geographies; Geography of Latin America. I typically have about 100 students a semester.
