We are to over watch all 3 shops that run at full capacity simultaneously.
Process Engineering Manager
Responsibilities are to keep the Continuous Casters in a continuous running state while keeping the environment safe, effective and efficient. Drive the workforce to exceed production goals that include tons per hour, safety and a high state of quality. Continually monitor grades, grade changes, chemistry, and quality of casted steel. During back turn operations act as the Caster Manager and make crucial decisions that will steer the shop in a direction that complies with the standards set by the company and our customers. Direct the maintenance supervisor in repairs and maintenance needed during the back turn that will keep the shop in a running state. Help diagnose and direct repairs for both electrical and mechanical repairs. This includes diagnostics of HMI’s, PLC’s, hydraulics, pumps, automatic valves and other various issues that may arise during the back turn. Accomplishments: Helped the team to accomplish two years of record breaking tons per hour, per month and per year for the company. Was part of the team that helped set a record high for the company of average heats per month. Was on staff and helped give direction which allowed the company to obtain a goal of running a caster for 7 days continuously without a breakdown or cap off.

Contracted multimillion dollar agreements between vendors and Arcelormittal Steel in regards to materials used to construct and maintain ladles. Placed new vendors with higher quality products at a lower cost within grasp of the company. Created a competitive market between refractory companies that allowed costs to drop and quality to rise in order to gain business from Arcelormittal Ladle Lining Department. Created a ladle construction and maintenance program that allowed us to run record amount of heats per ladle and still hold strong within safety standards.
