Burns Harbor Pickle Line / Tandem Mill / Roll Shop

Responsibilities are to maintain a running status of 3 separate shops. The shops are as follows 1 and 2 Pickle Line, Tandem Mill and Roll Shop. Responsibilities are to direct the work force, to include electrical, mechanical and operations. When problems arise we are to help diagnose, plan and direct the repair process to help expedite the repairs and return to full production. Other responsibilities are as follows but are not limited to: Fill overtime and arrange schedules and plan for future scheduling events. Monitor Hot Mill operations and plan for production and man power needed. Monitor production and quality of the rolled steel and to make crucial decisions in regards to quality control and modifications to machine settings both electrically and mechanically in order to produce a quality product. We are to over watch all 3 shops that run at full capacity simultaneously.

Burns Harbor Caster

Responsibilities are to keep the Continuous Casters in a continuous running state while keeping the environment safe, effective and efficient. Drive the workforce to exceed production goals that include tons per hour, safety and a high state of quality. Continually monitor grades, grade changes, chemistry, and quality of casted steel. During back turn operations act as the Caster Manager and make crucial decisions that will steer the shop in a direction that complies with the standards set by the company and our customers. Direct the maintenance supervisor in repairs and maintenance needed during the back turn that will keep the shop in a running state. Help diagnose and direct repairs for both electrical and mechanical repairs. This includes diagnostics of HMI’s, PLC’s, hydraulics, pumps, automatic valves and other various issues that may arise during the back turn. Accomplishments: Helped the team to accomplish two years of record breaking tons per hour, per month and per year for the company. Was part of the team that helped set a record high for the company of average heats per month. Was on staff and helped give direction which allowed the company to obtain a goal of running a caster for 7 days continuously without a breakdown or cap off.

Burns Harbor Bof

Responsible for Steel/Iron Ladle production, Maintenance, Coordination and Refractory purchasing. Contracted multimillion dollar agreements between vendors and Arcelormittal Steel in regards to materials used to construct and maintain ladles. Researched world wide refractory’s and weighed cost versus production based on dollars per ton. Constructed and designed a schedule for union workers that was both cost efficient and effective in the construction and maintenance of ladles.Accomplishments: Created a significant cost reduction in ladle construction and maintenance per ton. Placed new vendors with higher quality products at a lower cost within grasp of the company. Created a competitive market between refractory companies that allowed costs to drop and quality to rise in order to gain business from Arcelormittal Ladle Lining Department. Created a ladle construction and maintenance program that allowed us to run record amount of heats per ladle and still hold strong within safety standards.

Our shop is a Performance based automotive shop. We specialize in mostly Ford Performance products. However we also provide full automotive services to include: Ford Cummins conversions, Full body off work, Body and paint repair, full restorations, engine upgrades, tuning.

Responsible for 18 snipers and their employment; logistics and coordination between coalition forces and sniper employment; maintenance and accountability for $1 million in equipment; gathering and reporting battlefield information and vital intelligence gathered during missions to help plan and implement future missions; training of Iraqi Special Forces snipers. Accomplishments: Employed snipers on over 300 successful missions with zero mission failures. Held Top Secret and Secret security clearances. Achieved rank of Staff Sergeant. Major awards include Purple Heart, 2 Army Commendation with Valor medals, 2 Army Commendation medals.

Responsibilities: Responsible for training and employment of 4 snipers in Bahrain after terrorist attack on Kohbalt Towers in Saudi Arabia. Accomplishments: Awarded Battalion Most Physically Fit, promoted to team leader following boot camp. Ranked 13th of 40,000 in Infantry Super Squad competition. Achieved rank of Corporal.
