As an Electronics Technician, I was responsible for the maintenance and repair of radar and communication systems of naval vessels. My job responsibilities included serving as the Test Equipment Petty Officer for the Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (SERMAC) and included training in electronics and on communications systems. I helped coordinate and assist in the completion of over 139 jobs resulting in a cost savings of over $400,000 in contractor fees to the Navy and assisted in repairing radar equipment on the USS John F. Kennedy and in the antenna maintenance shop with the removal, refurbishment, and installation of various antennas for 24 Mayport based ships. These responsibilities required the knowledge and use of test, electronic, communication, and radar equipment including scopes, meters, signal generators, super micrometers, gauge techniques, and time domain reflectometers.
