About Christopher Gates

I am an expert in the area of embedded and system level information security.Securing embedded systems from hacking is an emergent and challenging property of device and system design. Bringing decades of IT hacking experience helped to create whole new tools; systems; processes and mitigations for use in the embedded systems arena.I have been especially focused on medical device security, due to my extensive medical device development background and the risk of such devices, all coupled with the very long life of these devices in the field.I have been an embedded software engineer for decades. I typically work on high reliability products such as medical devices, avionics, or motor vehicles, although I have done my share of commercial products as well. The list of microprocessors that I have worked on is very long and includes families from Intel, TI, Freescale, Atmel, STM, etc.
