PLANT/ENGINE ROOM SUPERVISOR AND QUALITY FUELS SUPERVISOR • Engine Room Supervisor responsible for safe operation and maintenance of engine room machinery. Schedules maintenance and documents equipment deficiencies on computer software to sustain propulsion readiness. Led troubleshooting and repairs on auxiliary equipment using schematic diagrams and technical documentation. Successfully completed three six month deployments with no casualties. • Fuels Supervisor administers fuel/lube oil quality management programs. Estimates fuel burned and accounts for fuel usage. Tests Fuel for sediment and flashpoint. Maintains Fuel transfer system in top condition. Prepares daily Fuel and Water Report to Commanding Officer. Handled 4.8 million gallons of marine diesel fuel in 7 months. Processed 25,000 gallons of oily waste (Hazardous Waste)• Arranges training and qualification of 65 junior personnel to advance level of knowledge.• Ensuring preventative and corrective maintenance on the following propulsion and auxiliary equipment:• 4- General Electric LM2500 propulsion gas turbine engines(GTE)• 3-Rolls Royce 501k Gas Turbine Generator • 2-Alfa-laval Fuel Oil Purifier(separator)• 2-Alfa-laval Lube Oil Purifier(separator)• Rix and Dresser Rand low and high pressure air compressors• Rolls Royce Controllable Reversible Pitch Propeller Hydraulic System • Repairs and Rebuilds various centrifugal, gear, screw, and vane pumps.• Propulsion and Axillaries Control Console Operator provides safe Plant operations while underway. Expert in casualty control to avert more serious damage in deranged equipment.• Electrical Plant Control Console Operator maintains 60 hertz electrical distribution system. Starting, stopping, and shifting of electrical loads to oncoming generators to meet mission needs. • Engineering Duty Officer responsible for the Engineering Department in port. In charge of night watch team monitoring equipment.

Operate, repair, and perform organizational and intermediate maintenance on mechanical components of gas turbine engines, main propulsion machinery (including gears, shafts, and controllable pitch propellers), and assigned auxiliary equipment and propulsion control systems. Aligns Low Pressure Air Compressors (LPAC) and oil tanks; analyzes fuel oil samples; determines fuel tank levels; disposes of hazardous material; estimates fuel, lube oil and water requirements; fabricates sealing gaskets; inspects fuel samples, Gas Turbine (GT) shock mounts and module shock mounts; inventories oil spill recovery kits; maintains air compressor components, air systems, auxiliary lube oil filters, bleed air systems, blow-in doors, demister pads, fuel oil systems, Halon systems, heat exchangers, hydraulic systems, intake louver hatches, jacking gears, LPAC components, main drain systems, moisture separators, Sea Water System (SWS), stern tube seal system components, system pumps and valves, temperature regulating devices, ventilation filters, and Waste Heat Boilers (WHB); maintains Gas Turbine (GT) assembly components, auxiliary control console, combustion chamber components, fuel systems, generators, inlet and exhaust systems, mechanical linkages, power turbine breaks and components, and water wash systems; obtains fluid samples; operates fuel oil coalescers components, GT engines locally and remotely, GT generator and support generator systems, GT lube oil systems, LPAC, lube oil service systems, start air systems, WHB, and waste oil systems; performs fuel pump logic calibrations, GT engine pre-operational checks, GT engine support system alignment checks, lagging operations, lube oil pump logic calibrations and minor engine maintenance; prepares fuel and water reports; records dry bulb temperature and meter readings; secures bleed air systems; and updates fuel logs.
