Mining/Civil Project Engineer
Ravensworth North Project, Hunter Valley
This role was a key position in the Project Delivery Team that involved extensive interaction with the mine’s technical services department and operations group. Roles and responsibilities on the project include:• Design and monitoring the construction activities for new surface infrastructure which included bulk civil works, pipelines and pumping systems, roads, water storage dams, truck fill points, dewatering borefields, and a Hunter River pumping station.• Project Manager for the installation and implementation of a new digital radio network across three mining Operations (Ravensworth Open Cut, Ravensworth Central Coal Processing and the Ravensworth Underground Mine). This included the coordination of the work scope, tender process, contract development, and budget and contractor management.• I was Xstrata’s engineering representative working with Parsons Brinkerhoff to carry out the Macquarie Generation Infrastructure Relocation works. This project included bulk earthworks, road construction, pump/pipeline relocation and power reticulation as required by the land purchase agreements between Macquarie Generation and Xstrata Coal NSW.• Contractor management for mobile crushing plant and the production of select materials for the project.• I was responsible for obtaining Mine Subsidence Board approval for infrastructure such as a new 330kV power line and Construction MIA (office blocks).
