I provide strategic leadership and overall management for the work of the Capilano Students' Union – overseeing a dynamic team of both seasoned and emerging professionals, all while pursuing the vision of a group of passionate, elected student leaders.I'm accountable for ensuring that our 7,000 members' voices are represented in educational policy-making at the university and in government; for ensuring that our members' access to and experience at university is supported by exceptional services and programming; and for organizing resources and information to help our student board in its governance and advocacy roles.

The board of governors brings together the administration, academic faculty, professional support staff, students, and community members to ensure that the university carries out its mission in accordance with the expectations of government and taxpayers. As a member of the board, I participated in the strategic leadership and direction of the university.

The senate brings together all segments of the university community to oversee the academic governance of the university, including through developing and advising on academic policy, and approving program concepts and proposals. I had the honour of serving as the first student chair of a senate standing committee (for each of the nominating and governance committees).

I led the development and expansion of student services and programs for the 20,000 members of the Kwantlen Student Association, and supported day-to-day operations and behind-the-scenes administration as the link between the elected board and our general manager. (The role was styled the "Director of Student Services" at the time.)

I coordinated the work of the Executive Committee and presided over its meetings. I supported the leadership development of other members of the Executive Committee, and managed the resources and workloads of executives to support the achievement of the organization's strategic objectives. (The role was styled the "Chairperson of the Executive Committee" at the time.)

I was responsible for the day-to-day operational and administrative functions in the store, including the service areas, markdowns, and the cash room; for ensuring the delivery of high-quality customer service; for recruiting and training more than sixty store coordinators and store associates; and for managing human resources, including hiring, discharging, and performance management.
