Wrote and obtained a NERCE grant on the characterization of antiviral compounds, which bind the dengue viral surface protein to prevent viral entry employing protein expression and purification to identify and describe mutations that confer resistance. The study of these mutations will provide information necessary for the development of entry inhibitors as potential therapeutics

Developed several novel cell-based assays to detect possible interactions between the human P-glycoprotein (mdr1) drug efflux pump and a panel of chemically modified tetracycline-based drugs. Examined the basis of complex modes of multi-drug resistance in mouse cancer cell lines in the presence of adriamycin and etoposide.

Responsible for robotic high throughput assay development and implementation. Worked directly on modifying pharmaceutical formulations. Later, moved into assay development in the biological sciences section. Involved in transepithelial transport assays
