My professional background is strongly rooted in the biological sciences and research. Doctoral and postdoctoral training in microbiology allowed me to gain expertise in bacterial pathogenesis and host-pathogen interactions. I also acquired experience in applied science from the biotechnology industry as a R&D scientist. Currently, as a Staff Microbiologist with USDA-APHIS at the Center for Veterinary Biologics (CVB), I help ensure that veterinary biologics are pure, safe, potent, and effective.
