This career requires the use of ultrasound (UT), radiography (RT), penetrant (PT), and Eddy Current (ET) in various airfoils and substructures to determine if specific parts are flight worthy and free of imperfections or inherent process defects. In addition to testing products, knowledge of a range of customer's codes and standards are interpreted for any findings that may occur. Lastly, as a Master Technician at Spirit AeroSystems my additional duties include but are not limited to training new hires in NDI, verify certification sustainment, program and maintain automated and handheld NDI equipment, and help colleagues with interpretation of results and applications.
