Was told the restaurant had issues with mismanagement of funds, staff and the daily service. Before I started, the restaurant was in deep economic problems, but I managed to turn the trend around and make it profitable in both January, february and the start of march. The 16th of March, 2020, the government decided to shut down all restaurants/bars in Oslo because of COVID, and since the restaurant was opened in 2019 and already had a substantial debt, the government decided that they did not want to support us with any economic stimulus. Even tho I did my best to get a deal with the landlord (which I did) and the suppliers (which I also did), the debt was too much to handle, since we couldn't keep the restaurant open. Since I was offered 20 % of the ownership on signing and also was responsible as the General Manager, I didn't want the unlucky timing of a virus destroy my personal credit and future possibilities of running a business, so I had to declare it bankrupt in July 2020.
