Just completed a contract position working for the Alcon Belgium affiliate after working at the corporate headquarters of this international vision care organization for 15 years. Develop software programs written in free format RPG. Perform custom software application design and development including modifications and enhancements to support affiliate companies worldwide. Work with business analysts to assist with the development of functional specifications, develop technical software design specifications, develop and execute test case scenarios, and complete as delivered documentation. Provide technical support for the programming development team and business analysts.

Worked as a JDE contractor through BellSoft, Inc. I was located at the client site of an internationally renowned medical manufacturing company in Huntington, WV. that manufactures optical lens products used in cataract replacement surgery. Designed and developed a method for editing a parts list attached to open work orders. Designed and developed an enhanced version of the JDE inventory inquiries combining and enhancing the features and functionality of the summary lot availability and the item availability by location. The enhanced features included an option to review items including all of their associated revision levels, additional item related inventory. Information, and functional exits to review open work orders and open purchase orders for an item. Designed and developed a purchasing and inventory tool providing inquiry into average inventory usage, held and available inventory, on order quantities, purchasing costs, with functionality for detail and summarized reporting of quantities and amounts categorized by financial classification. Additional functionality includes the automatic calculation of suggested order quantities, and the generation of purchase requisitions in JDE with proofing and editing capabilities prior to their creation. Converted a set of legacy programs that run a primary labeling process to utilize J.D. Edwards standards and advanced concepts. Designed and developed a Change Management System for Optical Forms, Images, and Labeling. This application provides for multiple environments across AS400 platforms. Developed an interface for an automated packaging application that provides a set of files in a PCL format that are delivered to an IFS folder using information generated from a secondary labeling process which is merged with Optio forms. Maintained updates to Product History Records which are controlled documents that are used in the manufacturing process using the Optio(DCS) document design tool.

Maintenance and development programming supporting J.D. Edwards Purchasing and Inventory Management applications. Completed over fifty projects. Assisted users in establishing their requirements, developing functional and technical software design specifications, programming development, unit and integration testing, assisted users in user acceptance testing, implementation and follow-up.

Worked in a contract position through Tek Systems at a client site, TruGreen/ChemLawn, a nationally renowned service company located in Memphis, TN. Using CL and RPG III and IV on the AS/400, developed automated processes for the entry of customers, jobs, contract billing information, and g/l accounts into JDE with a Visual Excel front-end. Enhanced the work order management process providing increased functionality, validation and controls, and interfaces for job budgeting and contract billing. Developed new server programs for maintaining g/l account balances, and retrieval of pay period dates for payroll. Developed a source control management application. Developed a process to hold subcontractor vendors for missing or expired insurance workman’s compensation, automobile, and general insurance policies using the central index code file. Re-engineered the process of uploading purchasing expense information into the g/l using the JDE batch input process functionality. Developed a user system access request application using API’s that enables/disables IBM user profiles providing historical auditing. Developed reporting of invalid user login attempts using IBM API’s. Developed a program used for a monthly data feed. JDE vendors are selected that are coded for payables. The expense amounts for the vendors are monitored starting from 10/1/2003 through the last date of the most current closed accounting period. The data feed from JDE involves an initial feed from 1/1/2003-12/31/2003. Thereafter, a monthly data feed occurs for the most recent closed accounting period.

Using CL and RPGIII/IV on the AS/400, developed interactive inquiries and batch reporting in support of JDE financial and distribution applications on the AS/400. Using Allaire Cold Fusion 3.1, enhanced and supported a Purchase Supply Requisition System running over the Intranet. Using VB 6.0, ASP 2.5 and SQL Server 7.0, developed and supported applications running over the intranet including DataMart Reporting, CQM ( a quality analysis reporting tool), Payroll, Med/Ins Verifications, Oasis Outpost, Timesheet Entry/Reporting, and a developed a custom billing application for healthcare reimbursements. Along with the teamwork of another colleague, I developed an intranet based billing application which collected data from two external applications (Agency Assessments and Patient Demographics) merging them into a system which electronically produced patient claims reported to the government. This provided for an increase in monthly billing of 8-9 million dollars since April of 2001. It allowed for electronic transmission of data eliminating an entire data entry shift keying into third party software. It provided the capability to track both early and late assessments from the field agencies allowing for error corrections thus reducing lost revenue. Developed and enhanced a Network Engineering database application using Microsoft Access/97. This maintenance and reporting tool allowed for the inventory and reconciliation of pager and telephone invoices. This increased accounts payable productivity and saved the company 10,000.00 a month in pager expense alone. In addition, this database allowed the IT department to maintain information on all field agency data communications like connection types, connection ids, ISP, usernames and passwords. This database application had an Access front-end and SQL back-end. Formalized standards, policies and procedures for the IT department.

Worked at a client site Health Care Company located in Brunswick, Georgia. Using CL and RPGIII/IV, developed interfaces into JDE Payroll, Purchasing, and the General Ledger. Developed data conversion programs to perform data Conversions to/from JDE and PeopleSoft. Worked as a team member on a Y2K project to bring legacy applications compliant. Developed programming enhancements to a payroll “front-end” system. Provided JDE support for Payroll, Human Resources, Purchasing, A/P, Fixed Assets, and General Ledger. Applied PTF Updates and SAR fixes to JDE. Developed programs to automate data transmissions across platforms using FTP.

Provided maintenance and support of a route accounting package running on eleven AS/400 systems. Developed an application using CPI-C and subfile logic to handle data transmissions to a SUN Solaris running Informix DB. Provided support for accounting users using J.D. Edwards AP/GL/FASTR. Supported technically related issues with security, configurations, communications, including remote AS/400 installations.

Installed a new AS/400 system and migrated existing internally developed legacy applications and database; migrated the JDE software applications to the new system. Worked as a team lead on a six month conversion project to native environment which covered over 600 CLP and 800 RPG programs including converting the database. Designed and developed a custom production job costing application written in RPGIII. Enhanced existing applications and wrote new interfaces with JDE including audit tracking tools for accounting. Worked as a team member on an eighteen month project to install a three tiered client server network with ten remote sites each on Novell servers on an Ethernet LAN connection over a WAN with FDDI backbone tied to four HP9000 servers.Installed Oracle DB and enterprise wide SAP. Installed a base of over two hundred HP PC’s using Windows 3.1/95, 3-com Ethernet cards, TCPIP stack, SAP front-end. Played a primary role in data conversions from the legacy applications to SAP using MS Excel/Access and custom written ABAP/4 programs.

Edwards financial applications. Developed interface programs between custom internally developed legacy applications and JDE applications.
