Assisted Dr. Merrill J Bateman model damages to plaintiffs in a multi-million dollar natural gas case. Modeled natural gas prices using econometric techniques in Python and Stata, calculated damages, created graphs to visualize model predictions, and concisely described the analysis in a write-up.

Research Assistant for Scott Condie (BYU, Department of Economics):Collaborated with a team of research assistants on market microstructure research using high frequency NASDAQ ITCH message data to discover the impact of hidden orders on order book spread. Developed own research idea involving measuring liquidity in the order book and began initial study and tests, including writing pattern recognition software in Python, running large tasks on the BYU supercomputer to process the dataset, and analyzing the results in a regression framework.Research Assistant for Bronson Argyle (BYU, Department of Finance):Analyzed mutual fund behaviors and the occurrence of closet indexing for Bronson Argyle as the primary research assistant on the project. Utilized advanced Stata and Python skills to gather evidence of closet indexing from CRSP mutual fund holdings data, process the data, and develop a regression framework.

Led initial stages of new software R&D project by assembling requirements, creating software prototypes, gathering feedback, and collaborating with engineers and software team to define project and future goals. Interned for Summer 2013 and Summer 2014.
