Organized students to develop a Mi'kmaq Medicine garden surrounded by an Indigenous Wabanaki meadow on the campus of Charles P. Allen High School. This urban sustainability project was first presented by The CPA's Better With Bees Team at the International Education Week at Saint Mary's University in Halifax in October 2022. As well, the Team Learned from Dr. Ellie Goud of Saint Mary's University of the RE3 2023 Quebec City Conference and encouraged students to complete a proposal to present at the North American conference. This Proposal was accepted in the fall of 2022 and the CPA's Better With Bees Team presented and received welcomed feedback on the 13 June 2023. The Team was fortunate to attend the "Gathering Seeds and Sharing Stories: Two Eyed Seeing Towards an Indigenous Seed Collection Program." The session was organized by Mary Knockwood and featured Donnie MacPhee and Meliassa Spearing of the National Tree Seed Centre and Mko Mosé --Dr. Andrew Judge--of the University of Waterloo.The land blessing for the Medicine Garden and Wabanaki meadow happened on the 5 June 2024. Elder Marlene Companion conducted the blessing.
