For over 20 years I have worked in the exciting and ever changing industry of long-term care. From certified nursing assistant, to student nurse extern, MDS Coordinator, DON, Administrator, and various regional clinical and consulting positions, I have been able to equip my toolbox to become an effective team member and leader, allowing me to provide solutions, through technology, to meet the constantly changing climate that long-term care finds itself in today. My understanding of information technology and how it relates to clinical and operational needs have allowed me to be an effective liaison between clinical, operations, and IT executives to identify, implement, and support the use of varying applications and hardware to tackle challenges and meet goals in long-term care. These applications have included EHR systems, data and analytics, intranet, mass communication applications, and employee appreciation and recognition platforms, as well as hardware that enhances care delivery while integrating with current applications. As Privacy Officer, I have worked with compliance and security teams to ensure that polices and process are in place to ensure that HIPAA privacy and security rules are being met, and risks are being mitigated. My experience has allowed me to be a valued and effect part of the teams I work with.
