I have a track record of excellence in curriculum design, programme and course management, and improving academic provision via evidence-based enhancement strategies. I have over a decade of academic and administrative leadership experience (for example, as an undergraduate programme leader at two universities).I have a track record of conducting independent and collaborative research (e.g., my doctoral thesis, leading and participating in national and international collaborative research teams). I have acted as a Director of Studies for doctoral candidates, and as a line manager for a research assistant. I have extensive experience of teaching and supervision at undergraduate, Masters and taught-Doctoral / postgraduate research levels.My communication skills are excellent. I have experience of working with highly heterogenous teams and student cohorts. As a result, I have developed a flexible approach to communication, and understand the challenges and subtleties required when communicating effectively with diverse groups and students with additional and / or atypical needs. I have extensive experience of working with traditional and new media to communicate research findings, and provide evidence-based commentary on societal issues.I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and regularly participate in continuous professional development activities. I actively seek opportunities to enhance my ability to operate as an effective facilitator, and to stay abreast of current developments in theory, practice and learning technologies.
